Technician Helper
General Description:
This individual will assist the apprentice and the technician performing chimney inspections, sweeps, and repairs. This job includes assisting with masonry work, installing stainless steel liners, and installing components of a fireplace and other appliances. This work can be performed at heights and the individual must be able to climb and work from scaffolding and ladders. This work is performed both indoors and outdoors and the weather can be inclement at times. Personal protection equipment is utilized and provided to include eyes, hands, hearing, fall and respiratory protection.
Education and Training Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Strong desire to learn and grow
A general knowledge of hand and power tools is necessary
Certifications:
Current MD driver’s license & dependable transportation
Ability and desire to obtain chimney certifications in the future
Experience and Skills:
Capable of wearing personal protection equipment
Able to work from heights
Is physically demanding
Lift up to 80 pounds
No experience is required
Drug free and no current DUI’s
Ability to work overtime on evenings and weekends if needed
Compensation:
Industry competitive rate that is commensurate with experience

           Certifications may include:
- Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA)
- Certified Chimney Professional (CCP)
- National Fireplace Institute (NFI)

Repair Technician

This individual will be performing high quality Level I, II, and III chimney inspections, sweeping flues, cleaning fireplace components, and performing repairs to fireplaces and chimneys. This job includes knowledge involving masonry work, installing stainless steel liners, and installing components of a fireplace and other appliances. This work can be performed at heights and the individual must be able to climb and work from scaffolding and ladders. This work is performed both indoors and outdoors and the weather can be inclement at times. Personal protection equipment is utilized and provided to include eyes, hands, hearing, fall and respiratory protection.
Education and Training Requirements:
~ High School Diploma or G.E.D.
~ Strong desire to learn and grow
~ Knowledge of chimney and fireplace components
~ Thorough knowledge of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 211 Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances
~ A general knowledge of hand and power tools is necessary
Certifications:
Current MD driver’s license & dependable transportation

Mason
General Description:
This position is a skilled tradesperson in the masonry field. They will be working with brick, block, stucco and stone in association with fireplaces and chimneys. The position will be building, repairing, and replacing masonry fireplaces and chimneys. In addition, they will construct, repair and replace fireplace faces and hearths. Will be required to perform additional chimney work. This work can be performed at heights and the individual must be able to climb and work from scaffolding and ladders. This work is performed both indoors and outdoors and the weather can be inclement at times. Personal protection equipment is utilized and provided to include eyes, hands, hearing, fall and respiratory protection.
Education and Training Requirements:
~ High School Diploma or G.E.D.
~ Knowledge of chimney and fireplace components
~ Strong desire to learn and grow
~ Knowledge of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 211 Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances or the ability to become familiar.
~ Knowledge in erecting ground and roof scaffolding
~ A general knowledge of hand and power tools is necessary
Experience and Skills:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the masonry trade
Preferred experience in the chimney industry
Capable of wearing personal protection equipment
Able to work from heights
Is physically demanding
Lift up to 80 pounds
Drug free and no current DUI’s
Ability to work overtime on evenings and weekends if needed
Compensation:
